46. I have just begun on Threelac and have bad headaches, aches and pains
47. Should I give Threelac to my whole family?
What is die off?
Die
off feels like a worsening of Candida symptoms, headaches, flu
type feelings. It occurs when the Candida is killed off at a faster
rate than the body can digest and excrete the waste. It is the
waste build up as a toxin that gives these reactions. To help reduce
this, go slowly on the course and try to get some digestive enzymes
that will help remove the waste. NB digestive enzyme production
has been damaged in Candida sufferers.
I am suffering bad die off. What should I do?
You
should reduce the dose. As most Candida sufferers are deficient
in digestive enzymes, supplement these, as they are needed to digest
the dead Candida and help the excretion. Drink plenty of water
and keep bowel movements regular at all costs.
3. Is it alright to eat fruit / dried fruit?
In
the first month or so avoid all sugars, fruit based or otherwise.
Sugars feed Candida.
4. I feel very acidic what can I do?
This is a feature of Candida. Use digestive enzymes to aid digestion as Candida has deprived your body of making these. Avoid obvious causes, fried foods, alcohols. Acidity will subside when you get digestive Candida under control.

5. Are you a Doctor?
No. You should not take my advice as a substitute for professional medical advice. My experience in Candida stems from my own infection and its treatment over the years. After many other trials of commercial preparations for Candida, we found Threelac. It was the most effective probiotic for my own Candida. We have since helped hundreds on people improve their quality of life (not to say eradicate their Candida problem). You should not use any advice found on this or any other website as a substitute to seeking professional medical advice if you have a query regarding your health or that of friends or family

6. Threelac disagrees with me
Threelac is a probiotic, similar to the friendly cultures found in Yoghurt,
and probiotic drinks. It is the die off that disagrees with you.
It shows you are sensitive to the waste products of the dead Candida.
Slow the dose (right down to a ¼ packet if need be) and
only increase very slowly. Ensure you are supplementing with digestive
enzymes and the minerals and vitamins that your body needs to function
correctly and that bowel movements are regular. Drink plenty of
water. A slow dose is better than none at all! But do not forget
the essential minerals that you need because you have the Candida
infection.

7. What does it taste like?
A pleasant lemon flavour.
8. I am Lactose intolerant, can I still take Threelac?
Yes. The Lactobacillus is a bacterial culture, not a milk product. (But the names do sound similar)
9. Threelac has yeast in it. Why?
The yeast will feed the Threelac while it reaches the areas of the
gut that the Candida resides in. When it finds Candida it will
feed on that.
10. Threelac has Lemon powder. Why?
Its partly for flavour, but also as nourishment of the Threelac bacteria
while they search out the Candida.

11. What is Oxy Oxc?
This product is used for Bowel Cleanse. It is said to rejuvenate the
colon and relieve constipation without becoming habit forming,
as some laxatives can be. The Oxygen will provide much revitalising
to the lining of the colon while the magnesium draws water across
the colon wall for constipation. Long impacted faecal matter is
thus removed. There are 180 capsules in a bottle and up to 6 capsules
can be taken daily for a month to rejuvenate the colon.
12. What are Active Enzymes?
Candida and Dysbiosis can deactivate the production of digestive enzymes
in the Intestines. This protects the Candida from attack, but also
prevents healthy digestion. Bloating, acidity, wind and other digestive
problems result. Bad die off reactions are another symptom that
you are lacking Protease and Lipase enzymes. Active Enzymes are
plant based digestive enzymes, together with two other probiotics
designed to supplement your needs and aid healthy digestion.
13. What is L Glutamine?
A non essential amino acid (i.e. can be made in the intestines – in
healthy people). Aids in the detoxification of Ammonia. Used in
repairs to intestinal lining damage (repairs to leaky gut). Some
reports indicate useful in treatment of Depression. Improves brain
function. In dysbiotic people this will be deficient as the bacterial
cultures used to make it are compromised.

14. Why do I need Magnesium?
Magnesium is important in the production and transport of energy, for muscle
contraction/relaxation, for synthesis of proteins and it assists
in enzyme function.
It is found to be deficient in cases of Dysbiosis. Deficiency may cause
muscle weakness/cramps, muscle twitch, hyper excitability, Insomnia,
poor memory, confusion and apathy. Severe deficiency may cause, tingling,
numbness, cramps, migraines and arrhythmia (uneven heart beats) recommended
daily allowance 3-400mg daily as Magnesium Citrate (more easily absorbed).
Also associated with low Calcium.
15. Why do I need Calcium?
Calcium is important in the structure of bones and teeth, but also for
absorption of Vitamins and the transport of nutrients across cell
walls, nerve and muscle function and regulation of blood cholesterol
levels. Calcium is stored in the bones. In cases of deficiency
it is reabsorbed causing osteoporosis. Deficiency can cause Palpitations,
nervousness, numbness, muscle twitch/spasm, Poor sleep, tooth decay
and Osteoporosis (thinning of bones).
Recommended Daily requirement 1000mg (1500mg post menopausal women).

16. Why do I need Vit B?
Vitamin B is essential for Nervous system function, blood cell production,
and absorption of Calcium in the Intestines. It is found to be
deficient in dysbiotic sufferers as it is synthesised in the intestines
by beneficial bacteria. It requires a healthy gut for absorption.
Deficiencies cause a host of problems, anaemia, confusion and poor
memory, poor growth in children, hair loss, and loss of appetite,
depression, fatigue, constipation, numbness and tingling in the
hands and feet, and a sore/swollen tongue. Especially look out
for Vit B12, sublingual (dissolves under the tongue)
17. Why do I need Zinc?
Zinc is another crucial mineral. Essential for some 200 enzymatic biochemical
pathways, for a healthy body. Including, DNA, RNA synthesis, immune
function and resistance to infection, storage and release of insulin,
Thymic hormones, metabolism of all food groups. Deficiency results
in skin complaints, anorexia, mental confusion, poor immune response,
depression, mental health complications, loss of libido, stunted
growth. Supplementation is simple. 15mg of Zinc gluconate absorbs
rapidly and long term use has been found to have huge benefits.
18. What do I need to avoid?
In your diet, all sugars and refined carbohydrates. Alcohol, yeast
products, vinegars mushrooms etc. But otherwise you can follow
a pretty much normal diet.
19. How did I catch Candida?
We all have the yeast format in our gut and the friendly bacteria
keep these in check. When the friendly bacteria are damaged, by
antibiotics, steroids, the pill or a parasite attack, they allow
the bad bacteria and fungi to become dominant. These crowd further
the beneficial bacteria and Candida then morphs from the yeast
format to the invasive fungal format.

20. Why are you different to the other Internet sites?
We were the first to introduce Threelac to England in May 2003. We
have suffered the problems of Candida and have come through the
other side so we have a long and personal experience with Candida
and its eradication. We offer advice and support; we only sell
items that are related to Candida. Since then the bandwagon has
rolled on and websites have sprung up selling Threelac in addition
to their other offerings. We have gained the experience that is
necessary to guide through what is a complex issue of Candida.
We match other prices available on the Internet.
21. Why do you use Special Delivery which costs £ 4 extra?
We started using First Class post, but too many went astray or were
delayed in deliveries. Threelac will not fit in letterboxes, which
does not help in ensuring you get it when you expect it. Special
Delivery means you get the Threelac Next Business day before 1pm – or
your fee is refunded.
22. I don’t want to give up wine / chocolate/ etc, what can I do?
This may be difficult, but you must avoid these at least for the first
6 – 8 weeks. Candida is creating these urges, as it directly
feeds the Candida. Threelac will kill Candida, but there is little
point in antagonising the course. Consider that when you have Candida
beaten, you should be able to live a ‘normal’ life.
23. How do I take Threelac?
Threelac is a powder in a small packet. Start with 1 packet a day, dissolve
on the tongue and swallow with a glass water. Then eat on top.
When you get to 4 or 5 a day spread over the meals of the day.
24. How do I take OE+?
Shake the bottle, and start with 2 drops 3 times a day in a glass of
water. Increase by 1 drop each day until you reach a total of 21
drops a day. Do not exceed 21 drops a day.
In cases of stomach acidity, reduce or discontinue until some digestive
Candida has been removed. Do not take close to bedtime as it can act
as a stimulant to your metabolism. If you experience a hoarse throat
stop the drops for a week and restart from 2 drops 3x daily.
25. How do I take Active enzymes?
For best results take at bedtime. If you have bloating you may take
one with each meal.
26. How does Candida create Vitamin and mineral deficiencies?
It’s the friendly bacteria in the gut that have been damaged and it
is these that make Vitamin B and allow the absorption of the minerals
Magnesium, Zinc and Calcium, among others. These are essential
to a healthy body.
27. How can I prevent/stop constipation?
Constipation is a result of dysbiosis. The peristaltic muscle contractions of
the bowel have been weakened and Candida changes the faecal consistency.
It is essential to normalise bowel movements urgently by whatever
it takes. We can offer a Colon cleanser, Oxc Oxy, which will rejuvenate
the colon muscle with Oxygen and draw water across the wall to
remove long impacted faecal matter. Highly recommended.
28. How much water should I drink?
At least 2 litres a day, and gradually move up to 4 litres a day.
This willhelp the liver with its detoxification and cleansing duties
to eradicate the toxins of the daily metabolic activity. (Avoid
tea and coffee)
How long will it be before I notice any difference from taking Threelac?
A rule of thumb is to allow 30 days. Follow what we have said in our
instructions and these pages, ensure you are changing your diet and that
bowel movements are regular. If by 30 days you have not noticed a change
ensure you have relayed that to me. I may be able to help. The minerals
and vitamin supplements are important as deficiency of these is often
the symptom of a Candida infection.
29. How long will I need to be on Threelac?
It does depend on the severity of the infection and in a smaller degree
to age. As a rule of thumb allow between 1 and 2 months for each
year that you have been ill with Candida, There are other probiotics
that may speed up that time. Note that you may have had Candida
longer than you think.
30. Do I have to take Threelac for ever?
No. But you should do all you can to get the good bacteria back into
healthy balance in the intestines if you want to have a strong
immune and hence be able to prevent Candida from returning. Some
people take 1 straw a day as an insurance policy.
31. Is it Ok to take Oregano oil with Threelac?
We say NO. There is some anecdotal evidence that Oregano oil interferes
with the efficacy of Threelac.
32. My Doctor has prescribed Antibiotics, what should I do?
Take them. Just be sure that when the course is finished that you supplement
your diet with as many different strains of Probiotic as you can
get. Start to take Threelac again, from the low dose. Never go
against the advice of a Medical practitioner as a result of something
you have read on this (or any other) website.
33. When will I know to stop taking Threelac?
When you get your life back you should think about stopping and having
it in reserve for incidences of stress or illness. You will need
to consider other probiotics to rebuild the gut flora to a healthy
state. This will speed and ensure your recovery and make it permanent.
Your body will then be doing the tasks that it should, naturally.
Can I eat foods with added sugar?
Ideally not, but be practical. Most processed foods contain added sugar.
Try to eat less processed food and more fresh fruit and vegetables. Be
practical, its best not to be neurotic about it.
34. How strict do I have to be with the Candida Diet?
With Threelac you do not have to follow a strict Candida Diet. But you
do need to avoid Sugar, Alcohol, Yeast products, mould cheeses
and mushrooms. These are all direct foodstuffs for Candida, so
try not to feed it while you are killing it off!
35. Do I have to put Threelac in the fridge?
No. It is stable at room temperature. Ignore anyone who wants to tell
you otherwise.
36. Can Threelac cause any harm?
We have not heard of any cases where Threelac has harmed anybody.
It is merely a Probiotic, similar to those found in Yoghurt, Actimel™ or
Yacult. It is a friendly bacterial culture similar to the 300 or
so that you should find in a healthy gut system.
37. How do I know when to increase my dose?
Approx 4 – 7 days after the first dose you may feel ‘die off’ symptoms,
where the level of dead Candida is higher than your body can deal
with. This may feel like flu or a headache. When you have worked
through this and had 4 – 5 days clear, you can increase the
dose.
38. How much will I spend on Threelac?
It depends on how long / how severely you suffer from Candida. But
allow between 1-2 months for each year that you have been infected
at an average spend of £ 40- 60/ month. Remember it is guaranteed
for 60 days so if you do not start to feel better in that time
we give you a refund. Once you know it works and you begin to get
your life back , you will consider it very good value.
39. Why does my Doctor not believe that I have Candida?
Candida should only become a problem for those with very serious immune
diseases (Cancer , HIV or burns victims), but we know and research
has verified that as much as 70% of the population has Candida
to some degree or other. Medical researchers are starting to recognise
the huge implications of Candida. You may well have your own story,
as we have, of frequent visits to your GP, test after test, visit
after visit, simply to pronounce no findings, or diagnose IBS and
offer a mild antidepressant.
NB Please do ensure that you have talked through all your problems with
your Doctor and that you do not use this (or any other) website as a
self help without having been to your Doctor first.
40. Can I take Threelac with other medicines?
Yes - there are no conflicts with any other medications.
41. Can I take Threelac while Pregnant?
Yes. You may remove the infection and prevent passing it to your child.
Improvements may be more difficult to appreciate because of hormone
fluctuations and the fact that Candida thrives in a system of changing
levels in hormones. Consult your midwife or obstetrician about
probiotics before taking Threelac.
42. Can I give Threelac to my children? If so how much should I give them?
Yes. It has been found to be very effective with children and they tend
to recover much more quickly. You may like to look at the data
coming out regarding Attention deficit disorder and even some levels
of Autism.
43. What do I do if I am not satisfied?
First of all call us – preferably at the 30-40 day mark so we can
guide you if that is necessary, but if you are sure that there
has been no improvement in the 60 day period , return the empty
cans for a refund. We have no Quibble with that
back to top ^
44.
Threelac is microencapsulated, so it arrives in the intestines undamaged.
This is unusual. Most other probiotics need to start with many
billions of cells as they only anticipate that 10-15 % will get
through the acidity of the stomach. Try to look for enteric coated
or microencapsulated probiotics as these will me more effective.
45. How many billions of organisms are in Threelac?
Streptococcus means berry shaped. It is used to describe the shape not the toxicity.
There are other similar shaped bacteria which are toxic.
46. I have just begun on Threelac and have bad headaches, aches and pains
This is classic die off . The good news is that it confirms you have
Candida and that Threelac is effective. You should reduce the dose
or increase the days between step increases. Get some digestive
enzymes to help break down the dead Candida. Ensure your bowel
movements are regular and drinks at least 3 litres of water a day.
47. Should I give Threelac to my whole family?
The chances are that all members of the same family have Candida in
some form. A mother may well have passed it to children at birth.
In very young children you need to start on very small doses and
be able to read the die off signs. They may feel very uncomfortable,
but not be able to express it, other than being fractious.
